Writer, surfer, guitar picker and burgeoning motorcycle enthusiast, Brent Laffoon began practicing yoga without even realizing it when he was only 9 years old, when a doctor prescribed him a regimen of exercises to correct a mild case of Scoliosis. It wasn’t until twenty-five years later that he took a class and realized the “exercises” he’d been doing all his life were in fact yoga poses, and that yoga was in fact his true calling.

Brent’s easy-going personality, encouraging attitude and unique approach to yoga have made his classes popular among yogis of all levels in Los Angeles and beyond. Trained in a variety of styles – including Ashtanga, Bhakti and Iyengar – his classes are a fusion of traditional yoga philosophy and postures mixed with a creative blend of conscious movements designed to challenge the body and mind while uplifting the spirit and providing a safe place for students to explore and grow beyond their perceived limitations.

Brent sits on the board of Uprising Yoga, an organization dedicated to teaching yoga to incarcerated youth and underserved communities. He also donates 100% of the proceeds from CAMPASANA, his annual camping and yoga retreat, to the preservation of the National Parks and wildlife, as well as the oceans and coastlines. For his efforts, he was named in 2012 by Rate Your Burn as one of LA’s top yoga teachers.

Brent was trained at Radiantly Alive, a world-renowned yoga school in Bali. In addition to public classes in Los Angeles, he leads retreats and teacher trainings worldwide. TO learn more, go to: www.brentlaffoon.com
